Just in case

She carried her umbrella around all day, just in case she needed it.
I told her it wasn’t going to rain.
“It’s just in case”, she said. Then she explained to me that if she left her umbrella at home, she’d be bound to find herself in a moment where she wished she had an umbrella (7 year old logic is not concerned with the actual weather forecast).
Then to my surprise, her moment arrived. As she walked past a fountain and found herself under a shower of water. I’ve never seen someone produce an umbrella so fast & delight in the brilliance of being fully prepared for this unexpected moment.
