Julia & Jason’s family

Cup of tea in hand…. Baby on her hip….  Toddler shyly clinging to her leg….  Energetic son riding his bike around the cul-de-sac….  Walking across the road to say hi. That is how I remember first meeting Julia, when her family moved into the street where we were living at the time. I was playing with my then 3 year old Ava & baby Anouk on our front lawn. In the entire year we had lived there, we had not seen another mother or child in our street. Ava’s eyes lit up when she realised a play mate her age had moved into the street. Admittedly, my eyes lit up when I realised another mother had moved into the street. Ava had been so longing for a friend in the area. Ava & Aiden were not even school age then. They became great play mates. Now they are in grade one and we’ve since moved somewhere else. But Julia remains one of those special people I have met along my motherhood journey. Most mothers who have spent part or all of their journey at home with children, will understand how important those women you meet along the way are. The ones who are on the journey with you.

Julia & Jason’s family of three boys has now grown to a wonderful family of four boys. Talk about blessed! This photo shoot was organised in conjunction with Julia’s mother visiting from o/s. It is long overdue that I shared it here on the blog. I love that they now have portraits of their boys gorgeous faces, but I also love that when I asked the boys if we could take some nice pictures of them with their mum, they treated me to some serious ninja action…. because obviously if you really want a cool photo, ninja moves are a must.
