At age seven, her smile is a constantly changing thing. This time last year her top teeth were all still baby teeth.

This afternoon I went back to work for our first photo session for 2014. Pete assists me for about 90% of my photo shoots, while the grandparents so kindly look after our children. Today my mum looked after the girls. They love spending time with Grandma. Ava was literally counting down the hours this morning until Grandma arrived, so they could play games together. When I returned home a few hours later, this is the greeting I got as I walked in the door. Two little girls running down the hall shouting “yaaaaaay mummy’s home”.  I had spent the last few hours photographing two gorgeous children who lost their mother to illness. Take nothing for granted. When your children run to you with their arms wide open, hug them. Hug them tight.
