Day 18 | January photo a day project 2016

18th Jan b

The girls put together a show of dances and musical acts to perform for the family staying at their Uncle Jesse’s place. At the last moment Anouk announced that she needed some orange paper. I had a quick look around but couldn’t find any. I suggested that she might need to just do the performance without it, but she insisted that she NEEDED an orange piece of paper. Her Aunty Varesha continued to search and found one small orange paper bag. Anouk cut it up, drew some lines on it & stuck it on her nose, then walked out and sang, ‘In Summer’ in the character of Olaf, from the movie Frozen.

One of the things I love about Anouk is how she is never concerned with ‘looking silly’, she puts her whole self into her creativity. Just like in kindergarten last year when she dressed as a troll for the kindergarten fairy tale day & a couple of kids said it was a boys costume, but she wasn’t phased because she thought her costume was just right.
