Hi, I'm Lisa.
Family portrait & lifestyle photographer based in Sydney, Australia. From a creative arts background, I originally studied visual merchandising and styling. I then went to college to complete 4 years of full time dance studies and majored in dance composition. I graduated with a Bachelor of Creative Arts, Dance Choreography in 2001. After years of working & freelancing in my previous field, the emotive & creative elements that first drew me to dance composition, drew me to photography.
My approach to photography is that I want the pictures I make to be honest, heartfelt and a true reflection of the beauty I see in people & every day life.
I live in Sydney with my husband Pete & our two young daughters Ava & Anouk. This photo blog is where I share my personal pictures & work.
I just love how they soak up EVERYTHING and make little moments into adventures. How fun that all this can happen on the walk home! The roadside concert pose is too cute.
I just love that you allow them the time. I feel I am always rushing my two and I hate it.
Walking home for your two is such a ‘joyous occasion’ Glad you did’t have a cake in the oven for afternoon tea!
Your girls are just divine and you had me giggling with their antics. I love walks like that, but they always seem to want to do them when you are in a hurry. LOVE the earthquake comment, that is thr type of discussion I have with my middle son all the time.
Thank you – I was feeling pretty shitty today and your blog has put the smile back on my face. xxx
Michelle, we are usually rushing on the way to school, but the way home is a lot more relaxed!
Libby, a cake in the oven would not be a good idea at the pace my two wander home.
Devon, in a way I think it is because they don’t have ‘to-do’ lists running through their minds & responsibilties, that they are able to really just let the walk home be a moment all of it’s own without passing through it in a hurry. There is so much to learn from children.
